Brittney W.
DONA-trained Birth Doula | Certified Lactation Counselor
Serving Herkimer, Oneida, and Otsego Counties
Hi, I’m Brittney, a DONA-trained birth doula, certified lactation counselor, and mom of three girls. My path into birth work began with my own experiences of becoming a mother, and I know how powerful and vulnerable that transition can be. Feeling supported and informed makes all the difference, whether it’s your first baby or your fifth, and that’s what I aim to provide for every family I work with.
As a doula, I’ll help you create a birth plan that reflects your wishes and priorities. I'll offer compassionate support throughout labor, and I continue to provide guidance postpartum as you need it. A “doula” is nothing new. Traditionally, women were surrounded by a circle of relatives, friends, and neighbors who guided them through the sacred transition of birth and motherhood. A doula is simply a return to that kind of care - helping women feel empowered, confident, and never alone.
I serve families throughout Utica, the Mohawk Valley, and Cooperstown, including those planning home births. I’m especially passionate about supporting physiological birth and helping women trust in their body’s natural ability to birth and nourish their babies. I’m also working toward my IBCLC certification with Mohawk Valley Lactation to expand the care I offer through breastfeeding and postpartum support. This work is my calling and my joy, and I’m honored to walk alongside families during such a transformative time.
