NEW Newborn care class by an experienced mother of 5.  Basic newborn care and time-saving tips.

NEW Sibling Class:  Offered in one session,  1 1/2 hours, in your home, to prepare your child/ren for the new arrival of their brother or sister.  Our unique program will explore the changes that your child can experience in the family . . . happy feelings as well as apprehensive ones and give them an opportunity to talk about their worries.  Gentle touch, ideas for siblings to participate and ways that their lives will change will also be taught by stories, coloring and a special craft especially for them. . In preparation for attending the birth:  Sibling Class- Offered in 1 hour session, in your home, to prepare your child/ren for attending the birth.  An appropriate video will be shown and a discussion about the sights and sounds that they will hear during the birth, what mommy might need from the child, in a supportive environment.    CLASSES ALSO HELD EVERY TUESDAY MORNING AT DEWITT COMMUNITY LIBRARY IN Shoppingtown Mall, 10:30-12PM.  Call to register.
NEW  Mini breastfeeding class:   $40 to teach you the basics of breastfeeding and give you the confidence you need to breastfeed your baby successfully from the beginning, including tips on how to discreetly nurse in public, without anyone noticing.   Sandi Thorne, LeLeche League Leader, 699-0011  Doulas of CNY proudly are involved with Syracuse Breastfeeding Connection and Syracuse Healthy Start.
*We also offer post-partum services (Overnight newborn care...so you can get a good night's sleep, light housekeeping, sibling care, infant care, meal preparation, freezer stocking) and have a number of packages for you to choose from. NEW--Ante-partum care.  High risk pregnancy or bedridden, Doulas are here to help you through with their hands-on support.  Personalized special care is given as you progress through your pregnancy.  MOTHER's HELPER:  We can assist with any thing you need to help you during your day...errands, meals, childcare, light house duties. NEW--We are now doing Blessing Ways, and Essential Oils in Pregnancy, Labor and Birth.

Childbirth Education:

$15 per hour for post-partum care services.

Approx. $300 for training to become a DONA approved Doula.

 Doulas of CNY  uses Young Living Essential Oils because of the documented purity and effectiveness in helping to reduce or eliminate symptoms related to various illnesses.  In pregnancy, labor and birth, these oils can be extremely soothing, comforting and work wonders throughout each stage.  During pregnancy, oils like lavender and myrrh may help reduce stretch marks and improve the elasticity of the skin.  Geranium and the blend of Gently Baby have similar effects and can be massaged on the perineum to lower the risk of tearing or the need for an episiotomy during birth.  Gently Baby can be mixed with distilled water to ease stress and reduce anxiety.  Tangerine and lavender are soothing for mastitis.  Contact us at cnydoulas@verizon.net for more info on how you can purchase these essential oils.
