Postpartum Doula Support
Nurturing care for Mom and her family

Postpartum Doulas are here to help ease your transition into parenthood. They specialize in helping families after the baby's born, easing the burdens of daily life so you can concentrate on your baby. They nurture the mother, so she can bond with her baby. "The doula got us through the first two weeks after my son was born. My partner and I had no idea what we were doing, and she made us dinner, took care of our son, helped me with breastfeeding tips, kept the house running smoothly so I didn't feel overwhelmed. I got to nap and catch up on sleep — and was glad I had after she left."
Whether it is providing you with outside resources, teaching you how to bathe your newborn, overnight care, supporting you with breastfeeding, helping you around the house, assisting you with other children, errands, meals, so you can rest etc...flexibility based on your needs, the doulas will be there to empower you as a mom!
Maybe you don't have a close family member or other relative ready to pitch in after you have your baby. Or maybe you'd simply prefer to use a doula's services instead of, or in addition to, a relative's help. Either way — you'll find the help of a good doula invaluable. Even if your mate is eager to take over household duties while you recover, letting someone else do some of the work allows the two of you precious time with your baby and with each other.
Let us know if we can help you transition to parenthood We provide nonjudgmental support and an extra set of hands to help you as you discover your intuitive ability to nurture and develop your own parenting style. In this way, your baby may be integrated into the family in a loving, gentle manner.
"The best thing my daughter-in-law did was hire the Doulas of CNY as first her birth doula, then her postpartum doula. Nurturing support in labor and then hands on support at home. I was there as a grandmother, the doula was there for practical help, breastfeeding support and to answer questions that she had. They all got rest at night and the household was running smoothly after I left too." -New grandmother
**ANTEPARTUM DOULAS available also--
Antepartum doulas are a newer kind of doula, specializing in supporting women going through a high-risk or difficult pregnancy. They support their clients in a number of ways. If a woman is on bed rest, an antepartum doula can help much like a postpartum doula helps a new mother – cooking meals, light housework, helping the mother organize things for the new baby, and, most importantly, providing emotional and informational support.
