Childbirth Prep Consults: These private personal consultations are in addition to your (any) prenatal childbirth education and are what we offer during prenatal appointments with doula clients. This is an affordable opportunity to gain confidence,  knowledge and skill from an experienced doula to take into your labor, delivery, and postpartum. Choose from two 1 hour or four 30 minute consults personalized to your need: Preparing your Birth Choices, Communication skills, What to bring in your birth bag, Comfort strategies and coping techniques, Pros/cons/risks/benefits of meds and interventions, Partner expectation, unique situations in birth, Postpartum recovery/planning.

Child Birth Education: Childbirth is a normal, natural process. But it is also something different for every woman and couple. Our childbirth education class helps you prepare for an empowered experience, whatever that may be. These classes aim to give you the strength, confidence and knowledge to birth your way through self discovery and the latest research. We cover the basics but also some holistic childbirth ways from Lamaze, hypnobirthing, Relaxation, Rhythm & Ritual birthing, Bradley method, and others and hopefully get mom and partner thinking of what works best for them.. Class curriculum is taken from the book, "Prepared Childbirth, the Family Way".

Two week sessions at our favorite place, Ophelia's Place/Cafe, Dewitt Community Library or private class available.

Child Birth Education: For home birthers! Specially designed for anyone delivering their baby at home, this class is done in the privacy of your own home.

Guided Relaxation:
Offered either as 3rd week of Childbirth Prep class or private class available.
1 hour. Prepares mom for a more deep relaxation in labor.

Prenatal Belly Dance! NEW! in 2012! Doulas of CNY are offering a series of prenatal bellydancing classes based on the Bellydance Birth method of movement. Bellydance Birth is both a beneficial and nurturing mode of birth preparation as well as a supportive and intuitive guide for use in the first stage of labor.

Massage alongside YOUR primary Doula: Yes Doulas offer massage in labor! But if you want an even deeper massage or relaxation during your labor, we have an LMT ready to help you!

Refresher Childbirth Ed: This is a special 1 1/2 hr class for you if you are having your precious 2nd child or even 3rd! Special labor tips and techniques for experienced moms and dads!

Newborn Care Class:

Sibling Class:
Offered in one session,  1 1/2 hours, in your home, to prepare your child/ren for the new arrival of their brother or sister.  Our unique program will explore the changes that your child can experience in the family . . . happy feelings as well as apprehensive ones and give them an opportunity to talk about their worries.  Gentle touch, ideas for siblings to participate and ways that their lives will change will also be taught by stories, coloring and a special craft especially for them.

Breastfeeding Basic Class: Taught at Ophelias or instructor's home, (your choice) it is personal and private, we offer a daytime class and an evening class as options. Breastfeeding basics for mom and partner too! Benefits of breastfeeding for mom and baby, getting started, signs of hunger, proper latch, positioning and common concerns. pecific concerns . Includes a postpartum consultation in your home as follow-up. $45.

Happiest Baby Block: Learn an extraordinary approach to calm your baby in our Happiest Baby Class. New parents will learn step-by-step how to help babies sleep longer and how to soothe even the fussiest infant in minutes…! Class includes DVD and soothing sounds CD! $55

Dads Duty! - Coming in 2012! This 1 1/2 hour class is designed just for that special DAD! Taken right from Dads Boot Camp series,
this class is a lot of fun as we kearn and talk about the adventures of fatherhood!

VBAC Prep Class! Our unique VBAC class will help you understand your options, build your confidence and prepare you to birth calmly and confidently whether you choose VBAC or a planned cesarean. You'll also have an opportunity to meet other VBAC moms . The goal of the VBAC class is for you to leave feeling informed, empowered and more excited about your upcoming birth.
