Doulas of CNY BELIEVE:   For every woman, there shall be a DOULA

A Doula's role is to support the mom and her partner through THEIR labor, THEIR birth and THEIR experience, not to impose any beliefs or opinions on them.  We supply a woman and her partner with information in which they can make the best personal decisions for them.   We believe a Doula's nonjudgmental, supportive role is extremely influential to the labor, birth and postpartum outcome.

*Offer free, non-obligatory first consultation to learn about Doulas, what we can do for you and your family in pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum.  How we can assist the partner and ease fears.

*Believe that if a woman would like a Doula during her labor, that it is her right to have one.  It is a sacred, special event, and when receiving the support she needs during birth, along with her partner, they are able to experience the birth as empowering and satisfying.

*Fees are affordably set, with payment plans and gift certificates available.

*Believe that the antepartum and postpartum periods are important as the birth.  Support and nurturing the family is our goal; facilitating the transition to parenthood by supplying reliable and factual information, breastfeeding support, newborn care, reassurance, and hands-on support with siblings, errands, meals and household organization, so that baby can be integrated into the family in a loving, non-stressful, living manner.  We “Mother the Mother”, and help her nurture her family.

*Daytime postpartum support by an experienced mother of five, Christine Goldman, Certified Birth Doula and Certified Postpartum Doula, and Heather Haywood, mother of two, aspiring Doula.

*Overnight newborn care by Julie Crosby, Certified Birth Doula and postpartum Doula.

*Free Doula support for expectant military wives so that they do not have to go through birth of the precious child alone, through Operation Special Delivery, www.operationspecialdelivery.com
